We like to have fun around here. After all, what is beer but a glass of liquid fun? So it should be no surprise that we’re a fan of games as well, which is why we host events like Ditty Wish Ventures to do a GAME SHOW!, which happens to be tonight, Thursday, April 10, starting at 6 p.m. This month it’s Family Feud, the game that pits family against family to try to guess what kind of inane answers the general population gives to odd questions. And we have it on good authority that Ditty Wish isn’t the kind of host that gets handsy with the contestants, so we’re all good there (looking at you, Richard Dawson).
But maybe you’re thinking to yourself, “Self, this sounds fun and all, watching people play a game, but maybe I’D like to play too!” If this is the case, first of all, you should talk to Ditty about being a future contestant. But more immediately, just come back here next Tuesday, April 15, for Third Tuesday Trivia! And we have a whole new list of categories, so be sure to brush up on your pop culture, science literacy, history, famous faces, sports statistics, geography, classical music, jazz music, Mongolian throat singing superstars, television sitcoms, actors that oddly resemble their dogs, weird quirks of former presidents, fencing maneuvers, the exploits of Le Pétomane, famous memes, popular carbonated beverages, and literature. Naturally, we’re not going to give away what OUR categories are, but you’ll be set for most bar trivia if you study that list.
Sometimes, though, we just gotta go back to our original form of fun. I’m talking about the beer, of course. And the only thing that we can think of that makes beer more fun is if you poke it with a hot iron. “What are you even talking about??” I can hear you asking. That’s right, it’s time again this Sunday, April 13, from 2 to 5 p.m., for Bier Stochern ’25! We’ll have some of our favorite dark and malty beers on tap for people to have poked on our patio where Andy will be manning the bon fire and iron rod. For those who’ve never done this before, the effect of doing this is a cold beer with a large, warm, sweet frothy head. It’s a treat for the senses, and, well, it’s just plain fun!
